KDE X11 and Wayland settings garble?

Hi

I am willing to try KDE with Wayland but the only fear I have is that a kde-wayland launch will totally destroy my current kde-X11 settings if I decide to switch back to X11...
So does anyone know if a wayland session alters the settings for my current X11 session?

Re: KDE X11 and Wayland settings garble?

I've been switching back and forth between Wayland and XOrg on Plasma for a while now and haven't had any actual garbage-ing going on. If you want to be sure, create a new user, copy the KDE settings over and then spend an hour randomly changing stuff and switching between Wayland and XOrg.

Generally, if you want to test stuff like this, create a new user as a crash dummy.

I have both sessions (X11 and Wayland) and the only problem I can see is that Wayland session does not save position and number of open windows/apps.

Okay, thanks. I created a new user for testing purposes.
