Hello,
i am trying to install arch linux on my laptop but fdisk gives me a strange message which i believe indicates an error. For completeness, I report the output of fdisk for ssd to which that message refers (I have another ssd on which there is windows but no suspicious message appears there).
fdisk -l
Disk /dev/sda: 476.94 GiB, 512110190592 bytes,1000215216 sectors
Disk model: TS512GMTS430S
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disklabel type: gpt
Disk identifier: C847FACC-9936-BB4F-BA80-9A5C10FD2A34
GPT PMBR size mismatch (1503895 !=60062499) will be corrected by write.
I also noticed that this message appeared even before I created the GPT table first time. I also tried to create partitions before, and then delete them by creating a new gpt table but nothing has changed. The fdisk output shown above is after the second gpt table is created.
I have already tried to look for the solution on the internet and also in this forum but partition command does not give me any problem regarding that ssd. I also report its output below.
parted -l
Model: ATA TS512GMTS430S
Disk /dev/sda: 512GB
Sector size (logical/physical): 512B/512B
Partition Table: gpt
Disk Flags:
(Partitions are clearly not listed because the space is not partitioned)
For this reason I don't understand if I can continue with partitioning and installation as if nothing had happened or not.
Thank you
