[SOLVED] Laptop stopped recognizing 5GHZ WiFi network.

I've had this installation for almost a year and until last week I've never had connection problems. Last week my wifi disconnected and when it came back, I couldn't connect to the 5GHZ network. It seems that it's not even coming up on the scans.

My network controller is a Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 802.11ac as seen when I run lspci:

According to Qualcomm's website this chip supports both 2.4GHZ and 5GHz.

All my other devices are connected to my 5GHz network. However, when I scan available networks (both through wifi-menu and iw scan), it's not listed.

Does it detect any SSIDs (and can you connect 2.4GHz networks)?

I actually found the solution to my problem. My router was set to automatically change the frequency channels without my knowledge. It seems like this time it changed to a channel outside of the frequencies allowed by the regulatory domain settings of my machine. By fiddling with

iw reg set

I was able to connect again.
