No audio after pipewire update[SOLVED]

I do updates usually one in two weeks. And the update I did last night now causes my system to not have any audio.

Can you help me troubleshoot it properly?

Thanks in advance for your time

Re: No audio after pipewire update[SOLVED]

Since I also crossposted this on reddit as well, someone there told me how to fix this.
Turns out that when you update with pacman, pacman doesn't replace any of the old config files and you need to do it manually.

So I went as root to the folder /etc/pipewire/media-session.d and inside that folder I replaced any old config files with the new ones that ended in ".pacnew"
And when I rebooted I had sound smile

I will mark this as solved in case anyone having similar problem comes across it.

Thanks man! This was my issue too.

We really need a feature for voting up posts. Now all I can do is reply with this nonsense. smile

Hallo @katarok, I really appreciate your answer!

Had no sound for some time and your answer solved it for me.

I had two outdated config files, alsa-monitor.conf and media-session.conf which for both there was a .pacnew version listed.

Once the two files were put in place sound was available again.
