xrandr refresh rate switching has no effect in NVIDIA Optimus setup

CPU : Intel i7 10750H
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Mobile

On my arch machine I successfully setup PRIME render offloading, so I can start my Xorg session on the Intel iGPU and offload any program to the NVIDIA dGPU by appending prime-run before the command.

Everything works perfectly, except refresh rate switching, as every time I try running

xrandr --output eDP-1 --mode 1920x1080 --rate 60

nothing changes, confirmed by glxgears, as it keeps running at 144FPS(Vsync is always enabled), even though xrandr now reports that 60hz mode is active.

Running the X server on the NVIDIA dGPU has the same problem.

I confirmed that on windows 10 I can switch between refresh rates, even though the only ones available are 144hz and 72hz.
