Weird keyboard layout behaviour

Hello, I have a strange problem: I own a us keyboard that I use with the international layout (with dead keys), so to digit the apostrophe I always type the apostophe+space (apostrophe+vocal gives the accent on the vocal instead). Since few days, when I type apostrophe+space on some programs (I noticed just on GTK programs, I use plasma) I have the accent instead of the apostroph (this: ´ instead of this: ')
do you have any ideas to solve it?
