[SOLVED] Red tint after upgrade to GNOME Shell 40 (nVidia and X.org)

Hi All,

up to now I've been a loyal X.org user despite all the development around Wayland. However, it seems that after upgrading to GNOME Shell 40, I get a heavy pink/reddish tinted screen which mostly shows in title bars with the default theme. So far I haven't been able to remove it by playing with night light mode. However, when using Wayland rather than X.org, everything is back to normal. Any ideas where else I might be looking to fix this? I'm using the latest nVidia proprietary drivers. (Unfortunately I can't get WoW to work under Wayland, which is pretty much the only reason left for me why I stick with X.org.)

Cheers,

Smoerrebroed

Does "xcalib -a -c" "fix" it? (At least temporarily)

Guess who opened that issue. ;-)

As I commented there, the patch provided will work around the issue by disabling the color transform matrix, which at least makes it usable for the time being. Please ignore the multitude of warnings during mutter build.

tatsächlich! haha, didnt notice that at all lol
looks like there may be an update to mutter at some point, so i guess ill wait until then. in the meanwhile, creating a new colour profile in gnome settings seems to do the trick for now.
