Hello,
Having a bit of a weird issue here with fullscreen games from Steam running on Gnome Wayland (Tested with MiniMetro, Europa Universalis 4 and Papers Please).
Expected behaviour present until update to Gnome 40:
A fullscreen game is launched and it captures the cursor, modifying the appearance of the cursor and accepting input from cursor.
Pressing the Super key to open Activities Overview releases the cursor to gnome to navigate within the Activities Overview.
Clicking the thumbnail for the game returns the game to fullscreen, and the cursor is re-captured, allowing interaction with the game again.
Behaviour after update to Gnome 40.
A fullscreen game is launched and it captures the cursor, modifying the appearance of the cursor and accepting input from cursor.
Pressing the Super key to open Activities Overview releases the cursor to gnome to navigate within the Activities Overview.
Clicking the thumbnail for the game returns the game to fullscreen, *but* the cursor remains undecorated and does not interact as expected with the game. Keyboard navigation works within the game.
Additional information after update to Gnome 40:
Papers Please displays its own decorated cursor in addition to the undecorated cursor, but this cannot be interacted with.
If Papers Please is launched in windowed mode, then the cursor is captured as expected.
Changing the Window Focus options in Gnome Tweaks does not solve the issue.
"Gnome on Xorg" launched from GDM shows intended behaviour after update to Gnome 40.
OpenTTD (fullscreen game, but perhaps not using Xwayland?) shows expected behaviour.
Not sure which logs would help with this if any. I suspect this might be related to the changes made to Xwayland?

I experienced this once with wayland native xonotic-sdl, but somehow the problem hasn't reappeared since.
I'm using latest git revision for mutter and gnome-shell, so maybe this has been fixed upstream, but the fix isn't present in 40.0 versions. There are -git PKGBUILDs for both packages in AUR, or you can just edit the 'source=' in the official source files.
