Whenever I start my laptop, the audio input shows two devices: the internal microphone, classified as "unplugged" and another one, simply named "microphone". Any application requiring audio input receives nothing, because the system defaults to this external microphone which of course doesn't exist. I have tried changing the microphone to the internal one using both pavucontrol and the kde settings manager, but it changes back to this imaginary microphone a few seconds later.
I am using pipewire, although I have tried switching to pulseaudio and it made no difference. Also, dual booted windows reaches the microphone no problem, so this is not a hardware issue.
I have the latest linux-zen-g14 kernel with no changes, latest version of pipewire and an Asus rog zephyrus g14 laptop.
I'll be happy to provide any necessary logs, but I don't know which ones would be helpful.
