[SOLVED] I/O error async page read on a partition that doesn't exist

I am getting a buffer I/O error on dev sda1. It seems to rapidly trigger whenever I use the internet (i.e. every time I type a key into the firefox search bar yields the ntfs-3g error)

journalctl -f

I'm not sure if it is relevant but X.org.0.log doesn't have any mention of /dev/sda1.

Re: [SOLVED] I/O error async page read on a partition that doesn't exist

Typing keys into Firefox doesn’t constitute network usage, so I would ignore that for a moment — unless it can be shown that it really relates to network.

What do lsblk and lsusb -tvv show? journalctl from the boot to at least around when the first non-kernel line appears.

Any USB sticks connected?

Re: [SOLVED] I/O error async page read on a partition that doesn't exist

On reboot the error messages aren't showing anymore. I am almost certain it was related to my external hard drive, as it now shows up in lsblk:

I'll mark this solved; I bet I could have stopped the error messages if I had unconnected and reconnected the USB.
