I am using Arch Linux on a Lenovo Ideapad 5 15in model with a AMD Ryzen 4700U. The kernel version I am on is 5.11.14.
On to the issue, when the laptop wakes up after being suspended the brightness down button turns the screen completely off. The value of the brightness seems to reduce by the right amount as the screen comes back on with the previous brightness when the brightness up button is pressed. Initially I thought this was an issue with the new Gnome 40 but I later experienced the same issue in dwm too.
Edit: Did a bit more testing. The issue occurs ONLY when using the brightness down key. I remapped the brightness controls to different keys and it worked fine. Also, the issue occurs only in the Linux kernel 5.11.14, I switched to the LTS kernel 5.10.30-1 and the issue was not there.
Does anyone else experience something similar and are there any fixes for it?

I have exactly the same issue with my Ideapad S540 13 (Ryzen 4800u).
Right now I've just learnt to put up with it, however it's interesting to hear that the LTS kernel works just fine.
Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any information or fixes for this problem at the moment.

Good to know that it's not just my computer, I've never experienced a software bug that was tied to one physical button. I suppose we wait until it's fixed and use the LTS kernel until then.
