[SOLVED]moved ssd to new laptop, grub2 doesn't respond to keyboard

Hi again archlinux community,
I have an install of windows 10 on another partition on the ssd I recently moved to a new laptop but I cannot boot into windows as grub doesn't respond to any key pressed when the boot menu is visible.  I tried adding a line to /etc/default/grub : GRUB_TERMINAL_INPUT="at_keyboard" but this didn't help.

Any guidance is much appreciated!

Since this is likely laptop specific, which laptop is this? And did you regenerate your config after making that adjustment?  It wouldn't be used otherwise

This is an hp pavilion x360 14 baXXX
Yes I regenerated the grub config with grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg

On my laptop I have to hit esc before boot to get the keyboard to work. Perhaps...

Escape early in boot leads me to bios setup screen.  Escape after GRUB starts does nothing, no key appears to be recognized.  Would removing grub2 and reinstalling it be useful?

This was actually never a real problem.  Apparently, on this laptop, there is an extended latency for keyboard key-presses at the grub2 menu after post.  I had my grub countdown set to one, as I like to boot quickly but also be able to choose another OS if i want to.  On this laptop, the key presses were not being recognized by grub before the countdown expired.  I increased the countdown to 10 after noticing that some grub menus on some installs on an external HD did seem to receive keyboard commands (and they had an extended countdown).  Now I can navigate the grub boot menu, though with significant latency initially.
