nvidia-settings "Failed to set new fan speed!"

Recently switched over to arch. During initial install, I installed linux-zen and nvidia-dkms, along with nvidia-settings and nvidia-util. All was right with the world. After kernel update, though, I was suddenly unable to modify "Thermal Settings" or "Powermizer" configuration values in the nvidia-settings utility.

Attempting to set the fan speed results in a status-bar messages: "Failed to set new Fan Speed!". Settings values under Powermizer has no effect, and no messages.

I have uninstalled linux-zen, nvidia-dkms, and switched to linux-lts and nvidia-lts hoping it was just a kernel issue -- but the issue persists. I can't find any log output from nvidia-settings and am unclear where to look next to continue to diagnose this issue.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: nvidia-settings "Failed to set new fan speed!"

Found the solution here and here. Switched to linux-5.11.13-arch-1 and nvidia-460.67-7 and all is right with the world again.
