I have ttf-ms-fonts installed. Then I launch any gtk application it writes on terminal something like that:
(gvim:5459): Pango-WARNING **: shape engine failure, expect ugly output. the offending font is 'Helvetica 10'
(gvim:5459): Pango-WARNING **: pango_font_get_glyph_extents called with bad font, expect ugly output
Then gvim launchs and all fonts are correct (including Helvetica 8 in the menus).
As suggested on one forum I removed ttf-ms-fonts and the warning disappeared.
I need ttf-ms-fonts. How can I fix that?

Helvetica belongs to xorg-fonts-75dpi so ttf-ms-fonts has nothing to do with it. 'fc-cache' or some other command issued during the install/remove might have fixed it.
