Can't connect Kindle

Hi, i'm trying to connect to my kindle, but when I plug it in, the computer doesn't connect to it. The kindle charges but doesn't recognize it's connected to a computer. I check lsusb and is not listed. There is no /dev/sdb either. I tried with other USB drives and they work perfectly.

Does udevadm monitor trigger any event when plugging/unplugging the device?

I've had this problem twice in the past, turned out to be a faulty cable both times.
