pacman returns many 404 errors when synchronizing some packages

Is this something to worry about or is it normal? It didn't happen on many packages, but the virtualbox package, for example, had many of them.

Pacman#Packages_cannot_be_retrieved_on_installation

If certain the package exists, your package list may be out-of-date. Try running pacman -Syu to force a refresh of all package lists and upgrade.

virtualbox-host-modules-arch's current release is 6.0.12-6.

You usually want to do -Syu foobar instead of -S foobar to avoid these kinds of issues. Also make sure the first mirror in your mirrorlist is up to date.

Just wanted to comment on this (I do realize it's an old thread) to share my solution. My pacman dbs seemed out of date and pacman -Suy did not fix it. It was asking for foo package version 25 but all mirrors had only 26. I fixed by googling the package from the 404 error and finding it in a mirror (html page for the index of the mirror url), copying the link to the package manually, then doing `pacman -U <link>` for each package with a 404. When re-running pacman -Suy I got a warning the packages were newer on disk but it successfully updated. I easily tried 10 different solution links for this issue before putting together this solution.
