Linux resource usage.

I was just browsing through the menus and came accross the System Monitor. I'm simply amazed at how little is being used.

I don't know whether it's because of Arch or just the nature of Linux but I can't see my old Windows XP installation using so little amount of resources. smile

Re: Linux resource usage.

Are you talking about the RAM usage?

If yes, you probably just booted and thus don't use much RAM.

Linux has a very aggressive way of using your RAM normally... But of course it could be that your system monitor just substracts the RAM that is marked for caching.

Anyway, it's a topic that you can get quite alot of information on if you google a little for Linux memory management.

P.S. To increase RAM usage, just start using KDE programs on your GNOME... You will soon start cursing life! ;-)
