In Gnome-Settings there is a "Screen Keyboard" option, but it only works after installing caribou. It looks to me that caribou is integral part of the gnome-desktop environment (at least for devices with touch pads), why isn't it installed with the gnome group? Since I think this is a desirable change, should I make a proposal at a different place or this this the right place?

I have no use for an onscreen keyboard. Why should I be forced to install it?

Some people, such as desktop users wouldn't really have a use for an on-screen keyboard, so it wouldn't make much sense to make it a dependency for the whole desktop environment. also the people who need the on screen keyboard can just install it afterwards.

As noted above, it should not be a dependency - but I think there could be a good case for being an optional dependency. The problem is, which package should it be an optional dependency for? "Gnome" is a group, not a package, and as such it can't have optional dependencies (it can't even really have dependencies ... just members).
