Split front and rear panel audio on Starship/Matisse HD Audio ALC887

Hello, how can I manage to split front and rear audio on this device?, I tried this https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pu … front/rear and the same with pipewire but I can't manage to get my sound card to act as a 4.0 system as required for this to work, this feature works on other operating systems so I'm pretty sure that this card supports this.

Welcome to the boards,

You probably need to set the indep_hp hint on the intel codec: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ … figuration so you get a distinct stream for the headphones.

If this doesn't help already maybe post some more information on what actually happens., what the system sees, like a

aplay -lL
amixer -c0 #Replace that with the actual card index
pacmd list-cards
pacmd list-sinks

what your current attempted config looks like, what the current behaviour is and use

right now the streams are not separated and when selecting speakers on pavucontrol I hear the stream coming from both headphones and speakers
