Please move this package back to extra , this package is required by all gnome users who wish to install extensions.

Looks like it should only be needed for clicking on extensions in chromium in order to install them? Does gnome not come with a builtin extension store?
Per the comments on the AUR package, it got moved to the AUR because it was not maintained by anyone. Which Developer or Trusted user are you commanding to adopt it?

There is no builtin extension store in Gnome, users of Gnome used that package to install and maintain their extensions in their browser of choice, not limited to Chromium. And considering lots of Gnome users need extensions, this makes Gnome on Arch unusable for some without the AUR.

I decided to try out gnome yesterday and was able to easily install extensions via the Gnome Extensions flatpak application (https://flathub.org/apps/details/org.gnome.Extensions).
Edit: I guess this is more for management of extensions, not install.

The only things Gnome Extensions can do are enable and disable already installed extensions as well as removing ones installed through chrome-gnome-shell, it doesn't install things.
chrome-gnome-shell managed shell integration, installs, as well as extension updates.

The chrome-gnome-shell is also required by FireFox, not only by Chrome-based browsers.
Maybe the reason why nobody is maintaining the package is simply because it doesn't need any maintenance? Can't even remember the last time it needed an update. ![]()

Mod note: not an installation issue, moving to Apps/DEs.

There are two third-party extension managers in the AUR too that I know of, getextensions-git and annex-git. Annex was submitted to the AUR by me, but it was mostly a proof of concept by andyholmes, meaning it won't be updated and it's somewhat buggy (install button doesn't always show etc). As far as I can tell, getextensions works quite well.
