emby serverr can not detect my nvidia NVDEC or CUDA

After experimenting a bit with my nvidia drivers, I suddenly lost the ability to use the card to transcode on Emby.

I have all the necessary packages reinstalled and mpv uses NVEC and CUDA just fine. However, these settings are gone from my Emby dashboard.

vdpau and vaapi are installed. as are nvidia-utils and nvidia-sdk.

How can I confirm I have the right setup for my card?

emby's service file adds the user to video and render groups. ReadWritePath is set to /dev/dri

Where to start with this?

Playing a file with mpv --hwdec=auto *.mkv shows

 Playing: The Avengers (2012) [2160p, DTS, 6ch].mkv
 (+) Video --vid=1 (*) (hevc 3840x2076 23.976fps)
 (+) Audio --aid=1 --alang=eng (*) (dts 6ch 48000Hz)
     Subs --sid=1 --slang=eng (dvd_subtitle)
     Subs --sid=2 --slang=eng (dvd_subtitle)

VO: [gpu] 3840x2076 cuda[p010]
AV: 00:00:25 / 02:22:55 (0%) A-V: 0.000

however, in the Emby dashboard, I onlyy have quicksync options available. I don't have an intel iGPU on this laptop. My Emby premier is valid.
