When saving a file, the upper part of the file manager is cut out.i3wm

Every time I want to save a file, the upper and bottom part of file manager just gets cut off. It looks like this . I'm using i3-gaps. I have already tried to change in mimeinfo.cache file manager to thunar and it worked for for everything BUT the file saving screen. Please help smile

Save a file from where?

Applications don't use thunar, they use their native file chooser window.

No, it didn't "fix" anything. It just shifted the brokeness one space to the right. - jasonwryan

vscode and brave are both gtk3 applications. You need to configure i3 to always open the gtk3 file-chooser at a fixed size that fits your monitor.

Ok, thank you, I didn't know that. I will try to do that tomorrow.

If you resize that file dialog manually, it should remember its size for the next time it opens.
