install : bootctl not putting initramfs-*

After

# bootctl --boot-path=/boot

I expect to see
/boot
--EFI
----Boot
------BOOTX64.EFi
---systemd
------systemd-bootx64.efi
--initramfs-linux-fallback.img
--initramfs-linux.img
--loader
----entries
    loader.conf
--vmlinuz-linux

However : I have neither the initramfs entries or the vmlinuz-linux

Re: install : bootctl not putting initramfs-*

The initramfs-* and vmlinuz-* files aren't created when installing a bootloader, they are created when the kernel is installed so should have already existed.

You probably didn't have your /boot partition mounted correctly before you ran the pacstrap command.

No, it didn't "fix" anything. It just shifted the brokeness one space to the right. - jasonwryan

Re: install : bootctl not putting initramfs-*

Thanks. Yes.

I fixed with

# mkdir /mnt/boot
# mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/boot

After that the bootctl installed the files I expect.

However... there are more problems which I'll put to another thread.

Re: install : bootctl not putting initramfs-*

You didn't even bother reading the post, did you? Again, bootctl has nothing to do with installing the kernel and initramfs.
