Hello,
I'm running Xorg with KDE Plasma on my Samsung 24" Odyssey LC24RG50FQRXEN, which is a 144hz monitor. However, it seems to always run at 85hz/75hz, as seen in:
- Nvidia X Server Settings, where trying to change the refresh rate only allows Auto, 50hz, 60hz and 75hz
- xrandr: which says
Screen 0: minimum 8 x 8, current 3000 x 1920, maximum 32767 x 32767
HDMI-0 connected primary 1920x1080+1080+510 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 532mm x 304mm
1920x1080 60.00*+ 84.91 59.94 50.00
1680x1050 59.95
1600x900 60.00
1440x900 59.89
1280x1024 75.02 60.02
1280x800 59.81
1280x720 60.00 59.94 50.00
1152x864 75.00
1024x768 75.03 70.07 60.00
800x600 75.00 72.19 60.32 56.25
720x576 50.00
720x480 59.94
640x480 75.00 72.81 59.94 - KDE Plasma settings, where I'm offered the choice between 50hz, 60hz and 85hz only.
I've tried using
xrandr --output HDMI-0 --rate 144 but this didn't do anything.
Any help is much appreciated.

Have you tested this anywhere else? A lot of this can be dependent on your HDMI cable, if it's not the correct "version" of HDMI you won't get the full range: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI#Refr … dard_video
Which exact nvidia card?
Online
I've tried using the original cable that came with the monitor, and unless Samsung is so incompetent as to include an obsolete cable, it's clear that it's not cable related. I wasn't able to find out the exact version though, it isn't written anywhere in the documentation.

For some reason FreeSync was on (I use an nvidia gpu) which limited the refresh rate. After turning it off I'm now able to set the full 144hz.
