The mtools package reverted a version within 10 hours.

Hi!

The version of mtools in the 'Extra' advanced and reverted within a day. Here's the directory listing of what's in /var/cache/pacman/pkg/ (time in EDT):

root[37] ls -Altr /var/cache/pacman/pkg/mtools-*
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 214555 Apr 17 06:19 /var/cache/pacman/pkg/mtools-4.0.27-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 215555 May 30 17:20 /var/cache/pacman/pkg/mtools-4.0.28-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 212952 May 31 03:53 /var/cache/pacman/pkg/mtools-1:4.0.27-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

The mtools source code was indeed upgraded to 4.0.28, May 30, 2021 12:42 (unsure of the time zone), on ftp.gnu.org.

Any ideas as to what caused the code to revert?

Thanks!

Re: The mtools package reverted a version within 10 hours.

Every package page on the Arch website has a "View changes" link that will bring you to a github repo with the package changes, often accompanied with a reason for why certain things happen the way they happen: https://github.com/archlinux/svntogit-p … ools/trunk

In the case in question a regression effectively rendering one of the utilities useless for mkarchiso.
