Hi all,
As the title would suggest, I've downloaded spotify from AUR, upon running it plays the first song just fine but ceases playing as soon as I change song and the app needs to be restarted before it'll work again.
So far I have tried updating my packages, restarting and installing spotify-snap instead. The problem still persists. Fortunately I can use spotify in browser.
In case it is relevant I am using xfce4 and my audio manager is pulseaudio.
Thanks

I have the same problem, but I'm using Pipewire.

I tried skipping the songs in the audio widget on my taskbar and this appears to have fixed the problem. I'm unsure why but if anyone knows more I'll gladly accept help.

Do you think is something related to last alsa-utils updates? Cause I had the same issue since I did alsa-utils and libcanberra updates (but everybody is telling me that it is not possible the the problem is related to libcanberra so I guess it's linked to alsa); btw, I still don't know how I fixed the problem....if is it possible for you, try to reload an old snapshoot and then try to updates packages using Discover (update eveything except alsa and libcanberra, update them at the very last moment; it does not make any sense but it worked for me).

I rarely use spotify, but just tested on a fully updated testing system (including updated alsa-utils) and no issues, so I doubt that's it.

Mine became fixed with yesterday's Pipewire update.
