Can't install any AUR package

It just hangs on "Generating .PKGINFO file..."
It happens with both helpers and makepkg.

Re: Can't install any AUR package

Is the PKGDEST entry in your /etc/makepkg.conf valid and writeable?

Re: Can't install any AUR package

edit /usr/bin/makepkg, find the function "write_pkginfo()" and inject some strategic debug output

…
echo "stage 1" >&2
…
echo "stage 2" >&2
…

to see where it stalls.

No need to edit anything, just run

bash -x makepkg

To get debug info.
