I can't remember after which upgrade (maybe one or two weeks ago?) and using for a few days, the Xorg crashed and the system returned to the terminal. The terminal still worked as usual. And then I updated the system again, after a few days it crashes again. I met this several times now. I am using the kernel 5.12.10-arch1-1 now. I am using the i3 as the window manager. The Xorg.0.log is shown as below

Can you reproduce if you remove the xf86-video-intel driver? It is generally in development limbo and not that actively maintained
Offline
The crash is in xf86-video-intel for a window mapping request.
Try to remove the package and rely on the modesetting driver - the intel one is in a weird limbo/zombie mode.
See also the note in https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Intel_ … stallation

Thanks, it seems that removing xf86-video-intel solves the problem.

Please always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.
Thanks.
