I cannot configure the external screen to 4k

My laptop is using archlinux KDE
Its resolution is 2k ,I connected a 4k monitor
But its resolution is only 1080p and cannot be adjusted to 4k
So I started using methods on the internet
I got some errors

The process is like this:

$ cvt 3840 2160 60

# 3840x2160 59.98 Hz (CVT 8.29M9) hsync: 134.18 kHz; pclk: 712.75 MHz

$ xrandr --newmode "3840x2160_60.00"  712.75  3840 4160 4576 5312  2160 2163 2168 2237 -hsync +vsync
$ xrandr --addmode HDMI-0 3840x2160_60.00

Re: I cannot configure the external screen to 4k

Adding a custom modeline is not always the correct solution and definitely not the first thing to try.

please post full lspci -k output, brand and model of the external screen .
The spec of the HDMI cable would also be useful , how is it labeled [1]
Are you using X or wayland ?

If X also post xorg log[2]  and xrandr output.

Re: I cannot configure the external screen to 4k

lspci -k output clarifies you only have 1 videocard and it's powered by nvidia blob .

Apart from the other info i asked for also post pacman -Qs nvidia .
Are you using latest firmware for your laptop ?

Re: I cannot configure the external screen to 4k

From now on please post everything I ask for and answer questions, don't leave things out.

The output of pacman -Qs nvidia indicates you have several nvidia and nvidia-dkms installed, but also aur stuff backported from manjaro to archlinux .

In order to help you I need to know more about your setup.
as root run

# SYSTEMD_LESS=FRXMK journalctl |& curl -F 'f:1=<-' ix.io
# dmesg -T |& curl -F 'f:1=<-' ix.io

each of those commands will output a link, post them .
