GDM doesn't provide a wayland option

Hi.

I'm using GNOME on my desktop pc. However, the last half year I've a few annoying problems which I'm unable to solve.

- I'm unable to select GNOME on wayland option from the login screen. There is not even a setting icon for it. How can I enable this?
- After I lock my screen, I'm unable to get my monitor out of standby. The only thing to fix this is by switching to another tty (alt + f3) and then back to alt+f1 . If I set my desktop resolution to 1080P, no issues persist. However, when switching back to 4K, those lock issues happens again. I'm using a RTX2070 with the nvidia drivers.

Hopefully someone could help me out!

Re: GDM doesn't provide a wayland option

I'm using a RTX2070 with the nvidia drivers.

For Nvidia it's disabled on purpose. You can search for "Nvidia Wayland" and you'll find plenty of info.
