[SOLVED] blank screens with new 6900XT GPU

Installed a new Asus 6900XT video card last night. Boots into Win 10 just fine. When trying to boot into Arch all I get is 2 blank screens, no cursor, once got a no signal message on both screens (Monoprice 277772 32" 4K monitors). Arch is all up to date as of yesterday morning.  Any suggestions?

Worksforme™ do you have any old xorg configuration lying around? Can you boot to a terminal with

systemd.unit=multi-user.target

on the kernel parameters?

Found a Reddit thread where a few people had the same issue. I booted into recovery, ran sudo mkinitcpio -p linux, rebooted and all is fine now.

Try to add "amdgpu" to modules in  /etc/mkinitcpio.conf and after that "mkinitcpio -p linux"

This solved my problem with the black screen and my 6900xt smile
