[RESOLVED] mkinitcpio weird configuration

I have a problem with the `/lib/modules/$folder` and the `/boot/EFI/arch/$initramfs`

`pacman` (and `mkinitcpio`) seems to not build correctly the `/lib/modules/$folder` and to place the initramfs in `/boot/EFI/arch/$initramfs` where EFISTUB needs it in `/boot/` to boot correctly
If I manually copy initramfs in `/boot/` I change from no boot to a boot who say
```
Warning: /lib/modules/$folder/modules.devname not found - ignoring
mount: /new_root: unknown filesystem type ext4
```

Unless I perpetually `#mkinitcpio -k $folder -g /boot/$initramfs`, each `pacman` break the boot

Re: [RESOLVED] mkinitcpio weird configuration

A default mkinitcpio config creates the initramfs into /boot this must have been so something you changed. Check your preset file in /etc/mkinitcpio.d/

Re: [RESOLVED] mkinitcpio weird configuration

"$folder" is actually (supposed to be)  the kernel version - you want to check your running and installed kernels as well and compare them to the complained path.

I have an empty `linux.preset`

The running and installed kernel changes every days, the 25 it was .8 arch, the 26 .12, and today it updated to .13. So depending on the boot state, it shouldn't always correlate. The problem is not here. In all my Arch using years, it was always being fine to update it and reboot or not. Today it's not okay, initramfs and mkinitcpio doesn't do his job. Like right now my `linux` just updated (linux-5.12.13.arch1-2  linux-headers-5.12.13.arch1-2), and I know that if I reboot, I will lost the initialization one more time

Theres a problem here

```
:: Running pre-transaction hooks...
(1/1) Removing linux initcpios...
:: Running post-transaction hooks...
(3/6) Updating linux initcpios...
(5/6) Update Nvidia module in initcpio
```

Re: [RESOLVED] mkinitcpio weird configuration

If your linux.preset is empty then that's a problem. Remove the file and reinstall the linux package, maybe post your mkinitcpio.conf if the issue persists.

Re: [RESOLVED] mkinitcpio weird configuration
