I just read this [1] and I need to upgrade the firmware for dell 5587 laptop, I run **fwupdmgr update** how is suggested [4], but the latest firmware image is 1.8 like 2 years old [2].
The latest version is 1.15 released at mid January [3], but my system does not see it available.
How can I update the system? LVFS is no longer used by dell for firmware updates?

I don't have a Dell 5587, but have done bios updates on other Dells using the usb/F12 boot method: why not use the Dell method via your link [3] "Installation instructions"-"Updating the BIOS from DOS (Non-Windows users)" or "Updating the BIOS from DOS with UEFI boot mode enabled (Non-Windows users, Load Legacy Option Disabled)"?

Because i think to wait the update from LVFS system; now I try to update with the exe method at boot; but it is strange that they have a system created for this purpose and not use it!
