[SOLVED?] Kodi can't longer show up on desktop - must to logout/login

Hello.

I was trying to configure Kodi until I noticed I couldn't longer acces the application on my X11 desktop session. Kodi launches but it cannot render interface neither in fullscreen mode or windowed mode.
After launching and killing it with the terminal, I got this output:

X connection to :0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown).

The only way I got to access Kodi is to logout, then relaunch my session but with Kodi set by default as desktop session in SDDM.
I'm a bit sick of issues of this kind, with no damn idea of why it's happening. Can anyone help please?

It probably was your "attempt" to configure Kodi. Undo the changes you made, does that fix the "problem"?

I litterally removed the Kodi config folder, making a data reset. Still got the problem.

Sounds more like your xorg session gets broken. What's your hostname? Is it *just* kodi or can you not open other X clients as well? What's your output of

loginctl session-status

what's your hardware/GPU? If intel and xf86-video-intel, remove xf86-video-intel.

Oh, and Kodi is the only thing I can't open. No problem with other programs.

Outputs look ok do you get any other output if running in a terminal? The message you posted is completely normal if you forcefully kill a client.

maybe run kodi through strace to check for any obvious stalls. Will be a lot of output, post that to a pastebin or so.

strace?

I was forced to kill Kodi cuz I couldn't see anything. So yeah, it's probably a normal output that appeared after using Ctrl+Esc.

Ok, I don't know what the hell happened but it seems like Kodi started to work again. I guess it finally understood it could connect to my X11 session.
I'm keeping the strace package anyways, it can be useful. Thanks anyways!
