[SOLVED] Need notification tool for newsboat
Do any of you know of a daemon that will send notifications when a feed update is detected, or an applet that will show the number of unread feed updates?

newsboat alrady has that built-in. See the notify-* family of options, in particular notify-program and notify-format.
