I fixed mtp on my laptop once somehow (I don't remember tho, it happened on its own) but now its happening again, whenever i connect this shows up (https://imgur.com/gallery/vPQcoUl).
The android phone is mi note 8 pro (i tried other phones too but it still doesn't work, same error occurs occasionally the error number changes)
and i use pcmanfm file manager.
i can't find anything on forums and I don't understand what is wrong. I also posted on reddit a few times but no use. for now to get throught i am using gnome file manager to connect but i don't really like that thing.

All i can tell you is how i got my Android accessible via a usb cable to laptop .
I installed : android-file-transfer 4.2-1
mtpfs 1.1-4
i think that was it

Thank you, i somehow missed that on the wiki. it is working properly now.
i used aft-mtp-mount command for it.
