[SOLVED] Problem with wrongly rendered icons/emoji

Hi,

I switched to a new computer and installed system from scratch with list what I have installed previously and copy my dotfiles, but it look's like something is missing or messed up. Because icons/emoji(?) doesn't look like they should - they are deformed or looks like glitch. If I understand it correctly, it's something with awesome fonts? I tried to install ttf-font-awesome, but it didn't change anything. Problem occur in waybar, neovim, foot or alacritty and other applications, but sometimes some of icons/emoji shows good in neovim (but not everyone) but not good in waybar.

Font resolution, make sure that ttf-font-awesome is preferred for your monospace fonts, https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Font_configuration
(Might depend on the VTE since eg. urxvt doesn't resolve fonts this way)

Re: [SOLVED] Problem with wrongly rendered icons/emoji

Thank you for your response. The solution from the link you gave did not help, but your comment made me think. I'm using Sway in Wayland only mode and using Alacritta as my console. I had a commented out snippet with the correct font in my config file (I had to do this before copying the files to the new computer and not remember it) ... After changing, neomutt, neovim and the rest of the application stopped having a problem. Only the problem with Waybar remained, but from what I can see it worked with the same configuration on my previous computer and now no, it's not strange (there is a problem in issues)
