acer travelmate 230 graphic driver

What driver to use with this lappie? With vesa driver maximum is 8bit. It works fine with xp tho.

I tried it with the vesa and the i810 in the repos. I tried it with the i915 driver on the intel site, but the installer complained that the kernel was not compatible. In high resolutions (8+) I get no display ..

modprobe i915, pacman -S xf86-video-i810

if it doesnt work, post /var/log/Xorg.0.log. saying "it doesnt work!" will only prolong the problem.

I found out the problem. In bios graphic memory is set to 1 mb. I set it to 8 mb and all was fine!
