Audio issues on Lenovo X1 Carbon 7th Gen

There are lots of searchable issues that are similar to this one, but none that provide a workable solution for me.

My laptops seems to be stuck with HDMI audio with now way to select between sinks.

Audio sources used to be selectable in pavucontrol in the Configuration tab, but that's missing for some reason.

The only option I have is to switch the Profile from Play HiFi quality Music to  Off.

alsamixer also appears to be of little help in this situation.

Re: Audio issues on Lenovo X1 Carbon 7th Gen

I have an 8th gen and was struggling with a new arch install a couple of weeks ago. I wound up installing pipewire and migrating everything to pipewire and things "just worked" after that. May be worth some investigation, I suppose.
