[SOLVED] Nvidia dropping support for Kepler GPUs (GTX 600/700)

Hi,

Drivers released after august will no longer support Kepler cards and as I use GTX 660 this concerns me. Will there be a 'final' legacy driver package for Kepler or am I stuck with nvidia-390xx-dkms?

The 470 series is the last to support Kepler.  So why would you use the 390 series?

390xx is newest legacy package in AUR. I thought the nvidia package is tied to linux kernel version so it's not possible to ignore it in pacman.conf. Should I switch to nvidia-dkms then? Sorry I'm confused.

The nvidia package is tied to the linux package.  The current version of the nvidia package supports kepler and is built for the current linux package.

You could switch from nvidia to nvidia-dkms.  There would be no benefit if you are using the current version of the linux package.
