Hello,
today I was about to upgrade my system. This, however, did not do well due to conflicting dependencies. After running pacman -Syu, this happened:
:: Synchronising package databases...
core is up to date
extra is up to date
community is up to date
:: Starting full system upgrade...
resolving dependencies...
looking for conflicting packages...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: unable to satisfy dependency 'nvidia-utils=465.31' required by nvidia-ltsI have not been doing partial upgrades with pacman -Sy, however, I am using the LTS kernel which could have caused the package conflict.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem? I don't mind switching to regular rolling release kernel if that is the only choice.
Thank you

You may be using unsynced mirrors or ther is partial upgrade. As per my system nvidia-lts requires nvidia-utils=470.57.02.

So you say you are normally using nvidia-lts driver with newer nvidia utils? I will maybe try to push non-lts nvidia drivers and see what it does...

No, you are using a broken mirror. Fix your mirrorlist and try the update again.

But yes, you can use the current nvidia-lts package with the current nvidia-utils package - that's what managed repos are for.

Okay, the workaround I found was to install regular nvidia drivers which, in the end, work just fine even with the LTS kernel and update went smoothly,
thank you
