Installing an older version of a package (Seafile-client)

Hi,

We have this problem with seafile-client:

https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/seafile-client/#news

" ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check!"

Upstream says it's better to revert to an older version, 8.0.1. To do that, I cloned the AUR repo, checked out the commit that said 8.0.1, then ran

> $ makepkg -sirc

It dies on the first dependency, seafile.

I also tried on PKGBUILD changing   the hash to '6c36c990992138cbc961d76689c6b1f60d5d2f52537169791e9e28b88d4850ad' as dsnxt reports. Both of these methods produced no results.

Any idea what I could try next? Seafile is crucial to my operations, but they push broken packages often, they change code without changing version numbers... it's scary. I'm willing to change to something else if you have a good recommendation (good sync on linux, and no bigCo behind it).

Re: Installing an older version of a package (Seafile-client)

did you also try also to compile seafile 8.0.1? seafile-client 8.0.1 requires seafile 8.0.1. And post full logs with [ code ] tags.

Edit: FWIW, I get the same hash for seafile-client 8.0.1 as in the PKGBUILD: 49bd391549b54f1cf043026862e765c8c27e84be07835c8ffc21d81570968367
Edit2: I saw that the same version requirement was added on 8.0.3, but I guess it should still hold for 8.0.1
