Freezes after GRUB

I finally started my Arch installation today, but after getting it set up, it freezes after GRUB. It displays:

Starting version 249.1-1-arch
/dev/nvme0n1p3: recovering journal
/dev/nvme0n1p3: clean, 94399/14974976 files, 1784642/59869737 blocks
_

After this it's frozen and I have to manually shut down my system.

Re: Freezes after GRUB

Edit the boot commandline, remove "quiet" and add "nomodeset" - can you boot now?

Re: Freezes after GRUB

"nomodeset" will prevent any usable GUI, what's the output of "lspci"?

Re: Freezes after GRUB

My bad, I had been looking in the editor screen for GRUB.
Running it though resulted in around 27 results (might've miscounted).

Re: Freezes after GRUB

You're not supposed to count them, but post the output ;-)

Re: Freezes after GRUB

Errrr… you do have working internet, do you?
You can post stuff from the console following the tip in the first tip below (basically "lspci | curl -F 'f:1=<-' ix.io")

Which you might have have to do. The picasso chip should™ be supported since 2019.
Make sure to install linux-firmware and amd-ucode, then configure the bootloader to load amd-ucode.img by adding it to the beginning kernel commandline.
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Microc … ly_loading

If that doesn't help, try to reboot the system cleanly (eg. by pressing ctrl+alt+del), boot "nomodeset" again and post the journal of the previous boot

sudo journalctl -b -1 | curl -F 'f:1=<-' ix.io

You cannot reasonably copy that with your fingers. In doubt, usb-walk it to a different system.
