Since you really have to see this to believe it I took a video of this which you can find here https://streamable.com/o1q6cv
After getting sound to work on the laptop by installing requisite drivers I decided I'd test it using some Youtube videos that I use to test sound's working. It worked so I decided I'd make an Arch Wiki article on my laptop detailing all these fixes (eg. enable vmd in mkinitcpio.conf, install sof for sound etc.) so they can be easily found. I left the music on in the background then that weird bug happened. It got stuck on the EXACT same process and began repeating the same second of the song over and over again and it would not accept any input (as can be seen in the video). Any clues what might be causing this and how it can be fixed?
Edit: KDE worked just fine on Ubuntu so this doesn't seem to be an issue with the desktop environment
Edit 2: Checked intel microcode was enabled and it was. now I'm going to try disabling tlp and see what happens
Edit 3:TLP is not the issue. https://streamable.com/fo7nfy I'm gonna try switching to linux-lts and will telll you guys what happens

Are the keyboard's LEDs blinking when this happens?

I did not check. I'll turn the laptop back on and use it for a bit and try to replicate the issue.

I have replicated the issue successfully while trying to make an Archwiki page dedicated to my specific model of laptop. The LED lights do not work when this happens. New footage here https://streamable.com/jw12zz

I've made a new page on the Arch Wiki listing all the issues so far and their fixes https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/HP_Laptop_17-cn0xxx I'm going to add the fix for this once I figure out how to fix it.

I'm gonna check the latest microcode is enabled in Systemd. Suggestion from https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=236686

Stop bumping the thread. There is an edit button for a reason: learn how to use it.
