Thanks for the help with troubleshooting the last error (now just to figure out what's wrong with the LTS kernel). I can now sign into my system. However the network isn't working. Since I'm on the system I can prepare logs and then upload them via the live usb. Here's the log I prepared https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/qT829Np3j5/ (it contains the output of get-networks via iwd, the text of /etc/hosts and /etc/hostname and a list of all running services) and a second log file containing some ping outputs https://paste.ubuntu.com/p/S8gv242cV9/.
It says the network is connected but for some reason the wifi isn't working as confirmed via ping. As always, if there's any other information I can provide to help fix the issue I will do so as soon as possible. What could be the cause of this and how can it be fixed?

I don't see any reason to believe that you have an IP address.
BTW, I'd recommend finding a different pastebin service.

I've never had to configure networking on this sort of level, how do I get the IP address set up? (this is WiFi if it matters)
I know I should be using a different pastebin service (i.e not the Ubuntu one). This was just the first one I could get to work with pastebinit. I'll go searching for a new pastebin service once I get everything working.

I have no idea what else you're trying to use for networking.

The 3 networking things I have installed are IWD,NetworkManager and wpa_supplicant. When I boot up just now when I try to connect via IWD I find that wlan0 is not connected (it's an internal Wifi card as far as IK so not sure how that works considering it works on the live USB)
Pastebin of the output of that

post the results of..
systemctl list-unit-files --state=enabledUsing code tags.
If you are not familiar with that go here..

You have enabled both networkmanager and iwd. If you do that, then you'll have to configure networkmanager to use it: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Networ … Fi_backend
| alias CUTF='LANG=en_XX.UTF-8@POSIX ' | alias ENGLISH='LANG=C.UTF-8 ' |

If you do the above, IWD needs to be disabled...networkmanager will call it.

It's working now thanks.
Edit: I fixed it by disabling the iwd service and connecting via nmcli as documented at https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Networ … orkManager

Your final post should be how you solved it, in case anyone else stumbles here.
You should also mark the thread as *solved* by editing the first post.
