[Solved] Steam-Runtime launches as Steam-Native

so let me give a basic explanation of what i have done. i have uninstalled steam & steam-native-runtime and installed them multiple times (though i have not deleted the files which i believe to be my problem, maybe) in multiple orders. yes i am aware steam-native-runtime causes problems i actually just found out after reading "Warning: Using the Steam native runtime is not recommended as it might break some games due to binary incompatibility and it might miss some libraries present in the Steam runtime" on the https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Steam/Troubleshooting page.

currently steam-native runs on my pc however steam-runtime is greeted to a ui that is blacked out and imitates offline mode as far as i can tell im the first with this exact problem and no fixes ive found have worked for me however i am new to arch linut lox and may have messed up

EDIT: i finally found a fix turns out there was a update for freetype that breaks the steam client you can fix it by running this command

sudo pacman -U https://archive.archlinux.org/packages/path/freetype2-2.10.4-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

its a simple downgrade steam-runtime runs fine now!

Notice that partial downgrades are neither supported nor a good idea.
Steam will be happy about te downgrade, but a bunch of other stuff won't.

Also 2.10.4-1 is the current version in extra. Did you enable the testing repo?

Notice that partial downgrades are neither supported nor a good idea.
Steam will be happy about te downgrade, but a bunch of other stuff won't.

Also 2.10.4-1 is the current version in extra. Did you enable the testing repo?

it is? well shit that would have been nice to know i was using the latest releases for everything is there a way to rollback to stable releases when i disable the testing repo?
