Can't get penguin on boot.

So, what I've done to get my VM to have a penguin on boot:

- Compiled a custom kernel called linux-logo with CONFIG_LOGO enabled (yes, i am booting it)
- Enabled early KMS
- Installed uvesafb

Is there anything else i need to do?

Re: Can't get penguin on boot.

I got this to work by following some of the advise on this Reddit thread:  https://www.reddit.com/r/archlinux/comm … t_startup/

For me, the fix was turning off CONFIG_FRAMEBUFFER_CONSOLE_DEFERRED_TAKEOVER in kernel config and then (optionally) applying this change so the penguins stay after login:  https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Getty# … ay_on_tty1

Some have said that it doesn't work with KMS enabled.  I have Nvidia drivers so I don't have proper KMS to begin with.
