[solved] Problem with 3D Graphics on first login

Hi guys,

my problem: When I login for the first time (xfce) everything seems to work fine, but 3D applications like Blender and Godot are very slow in 3D performance.

When I logout and login again, everything works fine.

I don't know how to analyze/solve this problem.

Window Manager: xfce
GPU: nvidia 1080ti (nvidia drivers)

Kind regards,
skynet.

Re: [solved] Problem with 3D Graphics on first login

Hi seth,

that seems to be the solution!

I added "nvidia nvidia_modeset nvidia_uvm nvidia_drm" to the MODULES=() section of /etc/mkinicpio.conf.
Then I executed "sudo mkinitcpio -p linux" and  shut down the pc completely.
When I turned the pc on again the 3D performance was as expected.

Thank you! smile

Please always remember to mark resolved threads by editing your initial posts subject - so others will know that there's no task left, but maybe a solution to find.
Thanks.
