New install error. mount: /new_root: no filesystem type specified

I have been trying to get a fresh install of Arch running on a new XPS13 laptop and am getting the following output on boot:

 x86/mktme: No known encryption algorithm is supported: 0x0
pci 0000:00:07.0: DPC: RP PI0 log size 0 is invalid
pci 0000:00:07.2: DPC: RP PI0 log size 0 is invalid
:: running early hook [udev]
Starting version 24.3-1-arch
:: running hook [udev]
:: Triggering uevents...
:: running hook [encrypt]
Waiting 10 seconds for device /dev/volgroup0/lv_root ...
:: mounting '/dev/volgroup0/lv_root' on real root
mount: /new_root: no filesystem type specified.
You are now being dropped into an emergency shell.
sh: can't access tty: job control turned off
[rootfs ]#

Previously, I was getting an error of "ERROR: device ‘/dev/mapper/MyVolGroup-root’ not found. Skipping fsck" until I followed the steps outlined in this post. I went into /etc/default/grub and added the UUID for my LVM partition which allowed things to progress to the above.

The hooks in my mkinitcpio.conf are as follows:

 HOOKS=(base udev autodetect keyboard keymap consolefont modconf block encrypt lvm2 filesystems fsck)

as per the wiki.

Finally, in my /etc/default/grub file I changed the GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT and GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX to read the following as per the wiki:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="cryptdevice=b142d78b-a231-4a0f-b1b6-c1d3b8a30cea:cryptlvm root=/dev/volgroup0/lv_root"
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="cryptdevice=b142d78b-a231-4a0f-b1b6-c1d3b8a30cea:cryptlvm root=/dev/volgroup0/lv_root"

But this has all left me with the above error.  Any suggestions on what I should do from here? I am at a loss.  Thank you in advance for your help!

Re: New install error. mount: /new_root: no filesystem type specified

Did you encrypt the partition?
Which approach in https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Dm-cry … ire_system did you follow?
Are you being asked for the decryption password?
Can you decrypt if offline (eg. from the install iso)? Did you actually create a filesystem on the decrypted volume?
