Lapel microphone doesn't work in newly installed Arch Linux

Hi all,

I am trying to use my lapel mic for recording and Skype in my newly installed Arch desktop. My motherboard is asus tuf b550m plus. There is a mic port at the rear side and a line-in and line-out. While the line-out works fine with my headphone, when I am inserting my lapel mic either in the mic port or line-in port, I can't record anything with gnome-recorder and Skype call testing doesn't record my voice.

Installed:
Pulse audio, alsa-mixer, pavucontrol

I checked in pavucontrol, the input tab displays the rear mic is plugged in. Alsa-mixer too detects the rear mic. However, when I am going to record something with the mic, I hear only background noise. I tried to increase the mic volume...only the background noise increases and no voice..

I must be doing something wrong. If anyone can suggest something, I shall be grateful.

Please, Let me know which command output is needed for the diagnosis!

Thank you!
